Measuring Matters! — Kitchen Measurement Challenge
Build students’ confidence with kitchen measurements before they begin cooking!
Measuring Matters! — Kitchen Measurement Challenge is a ready-to-use activity designed primarily for Grades 6–8 FACS, Foods & Nutrition, and introductory Culinary classes. Students move beyond simply naming measuring tools as they practice choosing the correct tool, reading liquid measurements, working with measuring cups and spoons, and applying common kitchen measurement relationships.
Students also solve practical measurement problems and analyze realistic kitchen scenarios involving flour, liquids, and packed brown sugar, helping connect measurement skills to what they will actually do in the kitchen.
