Kitchen Equipment Scavenger Hunt
Make the first cooking lab smoother by helping students learn where everything is before they need it!
The Kitchen Equipment Scavenger Hunt is an interactive, ready-to-print activity designed for middle and high school FACS, Foods & Nutrition, Culinary Arts, and Food Science classrooms. Instead of simply identifying equipment from pictures, students explore their actual classroom kitchen or food lab to locate common tools, identify where they are stored, and describe how they are used.
Students also locate important safety and cleanup areas and complete a Kitchen Detective Challenge that asks them to choose the correct equipment for realistic cooking situations.
Perfect for the first week of class, this activity takes approximately 20–30 minutes and can be completed individually or in pairs.
